    Just curious to see what others do.

    How many hours do you leave your metal halides on during the day? What spectrum are the bulbs, and what are the watts, how many lamps and what size is your tank?

    Leave mine on for 9 hours a day. I also run T-5s 2 each of 10K and Actinics.

    i run my 250w and 2x 65w pcs for 10 hrs a day on my 20 gal.

    (2x12k reflux on ends 1x14k hamilton in middle)

    10am-3pm- VHO atinics
    3pm-8pm-VHO+MH
    8pm-12am-VHO Atinics
    12am-10am-6 blue LeD moonlights

    Wow, it looks like my 4.5 hours of halides + actinic is low.

    4:00pm - actinics on
    5:00pm - MH + actinics on
    9:30pm - MH off
    11:00pm - actinic off

    I think I'll slowly raise it up .... keep em coming guys :)

    I cant remember where I read... but a group of reefers actually have a low light period and have had better growth results with their coral. :-/

    200 gallon long (84"x24"x24")
    3 250W 14K halides with 4 54W T5's (420nm) and LED moonlights

    I run my halides 7 hours, with 2 hours of actinic before and after. I leave my moonlights on 24/7
