    I have a hammer coral for more than 2 months now i just wonder how is it that the hammer corals grow more heads. I have this question i just wonder i somebody can tell me to just to check if he is growing or not.THANKS

    That type of coral is a hard coral. It is called hard for the very reason they use calcium to form a hard "casing" and/or skeleton. Make sure you keep your calc level between 400 ppm-450 ppm.

    The branching ones grow by splitting. Every now and then you will read about somebody's euphyllia coral that has a bubble on one of the heads, this means that it is going to split, but it doesnt happen every time they split.

    The new heads look like small feather dusters growing out of the side of the current heads. With just actinics on you can see the green specs of the tentacles even when they are really really small.
