So I was always interested in keeping these guys and always thought about throwing these guys in my display tank but I figure since they are so small, I rather set up a nano for them and be able to see them more often than not. I have set up a 10G Nano for these guys with sand and crushed coral bottom along with some small to medium size live rock for them. Is the 10 gallon sufficient enough for a pair of these guys? And other than starfish, are there any other prepared foods that i can be feeding them? More concerned about the size of the tank being too small for them although it should seem to be okay since they only grow to 1.5" at max size and aren't very active during the day. Please give me some advice on keeping these, thanks in advance.

I think a 10g is just fine. They are one of the smaller shrimp. You have a good idea there. I like it. I don't htink they accept any prepared foods if memory serves, just starfish and urchins, and only certain starfish at that. I only know what I have read and their diet is highly specialized.

If you have a separate tank to breed the stars in, a 10 gallon is fine. Then you can just cut off one leg at a time. Most of them will never convert over to small stars like Asterina so you're stuck with Linkia and Fromia. If one of those rots in only 10 gallons, you're going to have one heck of an Ammonia problem.
