Kind of an emergency I am heading to the store today and I live out of town.

I am starting up a 90 gal Salt tank. I have two 150 W Marineland Stealth heaters that are fully submersible and unbreakable. They have the injection plastic molding around them. I read one thread on here that someones cracked and leaked chemicals into the tank and killed everything?

Would it be wise to return these two 150W Stealth's and go with two 150W Via Aqua Titanium heaters?

Thoughts on what you guys think.

    Thanks.

I run the stealth and have never had problems. Any heater is capable of breaking if you handle it rough enough.

I like the stealth heaters for their toughness, but I dont like that it doesnt have an "on" light..

My stealth heater was causing me to get shocked whenever I put my hand in the tank and my arm rubbed against my light fixture. I wouldn't use one.

I use hydor heaters now. They're glass, I can tell when they're on, and they hold the temperature extremely stable.

I use one in the container I use to mix salt. I mive it back and forth between my salt mixing container and my RO container. The temp shock of switching from one container to the other has never caused a problem.

Thanks guys. I said screw it and went with the Via-Aqua's. i'll return the Marineland units on Friday. They were a bit more costly but I figured its worth it when you have a tank stocked.

Yeah I read that, but I needed heaters today :).

I hooked up the Via-Aqua Titanium's tonight, there not bad at all. Only thing is an extra cord as a temperature sensor.

titanium heaters are wonderful...... IME ive had problems with the rest....

But I have my titanium hooked to my controller... so I no longer have to fiddle with a thermostat on the heater.
