Just registered but I have been lurking and I have questions galore. Should I post them here or on the "newbie" forum??

Just got a Red Sea Max 34 gallon. 30 lbs. substrate 34 lbs. cured live rock. Spent probably close to $1800 because I went ahead and purchased the high quality LR at about $10/lb. Also, I purchased the RO and saltwater from the LFS. Yes, I like instant gratification::).....

I have a 7 year old son that is interested but I'm the 40(ish) Mom that has the bug!

All I can say is this site is amazing and has answered so many of my questions already. You guys are awesome

    Welcome to the 3reef,
You know they say that 40's are the new 20's so your practicly a teen mum;D
Dont forget to relax that instant gratification wild side of yours with this hobbie, as you will need to lean more on the "patience is a vertue" thing.

The longer you can hold off the better it will feel:eek: dont rush the cycle
(when your tank is a mini eco system;D)
    Good luck to you

Thanks everyone! Like I said, it's more my hobby and Hunter is just "along for the ride".

Welcome to 3reef. Be careful with the instant gratification. It'll save you and your kid heartache and money. Ask lot's of questions.
