WOW, I've been out of the hobby for almost 5 years after doing it for 12 years and I can't believe how much things have changed. Love all the technology! This is a great site! Happy reefing all.

Welcome to 3reef! :) I've only been in the hobby for about a year, and LED's are the new big thing that everyone is talking about. A lot has changed though. When I was playing around with saltwater back in 2000, CF were the best lighting lol.

Well at least the live rock prices have come down, I remember when I first started rock was $12 a pound and puka shell crushed coral was the way to go lol! I used to have a variety of tanks, started with a 90 gal and ended up with 3000 gallons in my garage which turned into a coral farm. Quite the experience to say the least. Moved to Nevada and I have to go to Sacramento just to find a decent fish store. I now have a 54 corner tank that I started cycling 2 weeks ago. Just trying to research all the right ways to go since things have changed so much! Ecotech has some amazing stuff, yet I am quite the DIYer (like most are in this hobby) Thank you all for the warm welcome!

As of now I'm waiting for my custom filter to be made by a company called Bashsea. I don't have much room under this tank so I went custom. (which I rarely did before because I had all the tools to make my own) but where i'm at now I can't do it just yet. (soon to come)...So I'll be running a 9.5 mag for a return and am undecided on which LEDs to get. I'm thinking 2 Ecotech MP40's would do the trick. They are pretty powerful, But I can turn them down a bit and they will work in my next (BIGGER) tank as well. So with that, I'm kind of leaning towards the Ecotech Radion. Thoughts?
