    Hey ...

I am new to marine aquarium's . We have read a little in books and forums but there are sometimes different answer which is confusing .. We set up our 20 gallon / 90 litre Kent bio marine tank .. We set this up and going very well .. We have now had this set up for 7 weeks we have different sized live rock , 2 cleaner shrimp , 1 snail , 2 hermit crabs & 1 soft coral in total .

Also brown algae what's best to combat this please.

Can anyone please help on how many fish we would be able to have & easy to keep , also in regards to corals & urchins what's best and when would we best add the m .. I know slower is better and don't want to make mistake :-( ..

We have little boy who loves the tank already...

    Thanks all speak soon x

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef Mr.G.

One medium fish or two very smaller sized fish, such as a pair of clowns.

The brown algae could be Diatoms and they will die off as the tank continues to cycle and the silicates are used up.

I heard urchins and corals don't mix. You'll learn there's about three opinions on how to do everything involving this hobby!

Welcome to 3reef MrG, Don't worry to much about the Diatoms, that's just the start on what you will experiance in the newly set up marine tank, Red Slime will more than likely follow up shortly.

welcome to 3reef! You probably could get about 3 fish for your tank. I think clowns would be a great addition and then a bottom dweller would be nice. I'm partial to gobies. Best rule of thumb is to add fish (one at a time is optimal) and then about 7-10 days in between each addition so the biological filter can adjust. If you don't plan on keeping more sensitive corals, an urchin can be an interesting invert to have. I have one and he loves to eat algae throughout the tank - this does include eating the purple coralline algae which I don't like that it does but there's always unique quirks to each creature you decide to add.

I would give your tank a little more maturation time before adding more coral but hardier varieties should be ok (mushrooms, other softies).

Welcome to the hobby! Your little boy would probably love to see a couple of Nemos in the tank :)
