    I'd like to introduce myself to the forum. I'm a undergraduate student in Rochester studying Mechanical Engineering. I'm also a active Scuba diver with a rescue certification and working my my dive master qualifications.

    I've had small fish tanks since I was a child but always freshwater. Now, somewhere between, O Chem, scuba diving and fluid mechanics, I've decided to give salt water a try. I've been skimming the forum for a few weeks looking at the Guides and DIY pages and am getting ready to set up a 29 gal aquarium, with a 29gal sump / refugiem, with a home build protein skimmer, reactors and plumbing. I'll be staying on 3reef throughout the process and am glad to have found a intelligent and helpful community to ask questions of.
