Hello fellow reefers, I am recently back into the hobby after a 13 year absence thanks to a very generous donation from my sister in law! Right now I have a standard all glass 55 gallon with some zooanths, button polyps, green star polyps, mushrooms, tree corals, 4 different leather corals, some sunset montipora and some trumpet corals. I also have 2 percula clowns, green bubble tip anenome, yellow tang, fire shrimp and various clean up crews. (crabs, snails, tuxcedo urchin) I run 500 watts of metal halide as well as 216 watts of t-5 actinic supplementation (420 nm at present) and then night lights at night. I have 2 hydor korolia 1050 wave makers power heads for water circulation, 2 life guard return pumps (in a 30 gallon sump) as well as an A-2 ASM skimmer and I run chaeto and caulerpa in the fuge to help with phosphate and nitrate. That is tank#1, I also have a standard 29 gallon with a hang on the back skimmer/fuge combo, a maxi-jet 600 for water circulation, a ehiem 2217 canister filter loaded with G.F.O, with a cinnamon clown, sea hare, leather and mushrooms under a reef capable marineland LED light that has only been up a few months. I am mostly about coral but I love inverts and clown fish as well. I am already mentally preparing a 90 gallon upgrade for my 55 and within a year I will have LED lights on the 55, just haven't decided on what to change to yet. I run RODI water only and I really like corap pro red sea salt mix, seems to hold ph/salinity really well. I have had good success with both my tanks in the short time I have had them up and running, been doing lots of research and experiments with them to find what works. Looking forward to reading the threads on here, because that is what this hobby is all about. Cheers and happy reefing!
