Turning a 2004 75g FOWLR tank around by adding a 30g refugium (added 8/8/2010) and found this site! Turning it around in that it has been looking pathetic over the last few years and recently learned of refugiums so, I am motivated about my tank again and want to learn. The hello part - former Jarhead, honorably discharged '92, originally from Iowa, married with children, database analyst for the AK dept. of corrections. Hello all!

    Welcome and Semper Fi!
How many years were you in? What MOS?
Refugiums are great... Get quality macro algae. I tried some off eBay and was disappointed in what I got. You can find it here sometimes for a very good price for quality stuff.

For those of you joining us that are new to the hobby - the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan
    "Go slow, let it grow."
And for those experianced hobbyists joining us - it's still good advice :p
