I took over my friends 55gal upright SW tank about three years ago. Slowly but surely I am hooked on this hobby and looks to be a lifelong adventure!
I slowly started adding fish to the tank and with trial and error, bad fish choices and being misguided by some shady fish stores, I now have an established tank that I am ready to improve on. When I started this venture I was buying all the big breeds of fish not realizing they will out grow my tank. I've already had to let go of a Queen angel and a Yellow Tang. My current inventory of fish consist of a 15" Snowflake Eel, 1 Clown Trigger, 2 Clownfish, 2 pajama Cardinals, 1 Damsel (had him since day one!) 1 Coral Beauty Angel, 2 Pincushion Urchins, 1 Red Sea Star, and some snails as a clean up crew. I'll attempt to attach a pic. Thanks for letting me aboard!

    Welcome to 3reef!

A couple notes on the tank. First, I am sure you are aware, but the next on your getting too big for the tank list is the Clown Trigger. Beautiful fish though! Second, it looks like you are a little light on rock. Any plans to add more? Finally, for filtration, do you just have the HOB filter? If so, what do you run in it (stock filter pads, media, etc)?

I grew up in Cocoa Beach!

I just run the HOB filter with the stock pads and bio wheels. This is why I logged in and became a member on here is to see where I can go from my basic set up to something a bit more speedier. I'm aware my Clown Trigger is eventually going to get too big, but I'm holding on to him for now. It's really going to suck when I have to get rid of him, he has a great personality. I've had him since he was the size of a quarter! I'd assume my Eel will be next to go as well. I plan to add a lot more live rock the beginning of next month. I'm not sure how to work all this out between changing out my CC botom to sand and adding more live rock though. I think the live rock would be fine to add during the change?
