Hello from Illinois

    Hello everyone, My name is Jason and I and my wife and five kids reside in a Podunk town in southern central Illinois about an hour and a half east of
    St. Louis on I 70. I started thinking about setting up a saltwater tank about 6-7 months ago and a few months later I came across a couple good deals on some equipment, so I bought it. I have a 125g tank that I am slowly setting up. Right now it has a couple of pieces of base rock and a trio of yellow tail damsels in it. It's sitting on a(not yet finished) DIY stand with a DIY hood(also not yet finished) over the top of it. I have two 400w MH lights run by a DIY ballast setup. I plumbed the tank to my basement where it runs into a wet dry filter system(I'm still debating on whether or not to remove the bio balls) and is run through an E.T.S.S. evolution 750 skimmer. I also have a 30g long sump that, WAS, ready to be added to the system, but, due to a clumsy move by me I get to replace/repair the bottom glass in it. I also have a 180g tank that I picked up for $100. It's sitting dry in my basement waiting for me to reseal it. I'll try to get some pics up shortly.

    Welcome to 3reef fellow Illinoisan! I live about 35 miles south of the Chicago. Sounds like a nice set-up. You had better get some pictures up before the local PicPolice Luna see this post, LOL.

    You sound allot like me, I have a 29 that I just got done replacing a side panel on due to my foot being in the wrong place (inside the tank).

    I'm on it now(the pics)...;D

    It's nothing much to look at.....yet...

    Yeah, my rodi filter fell through the bottom of that sump thanks to me accidentally pulling it off of the top of my hood.
