Hello, and welcome to 3reef!! I am also from Indiana, as are several people from here. What part are you from? Have you gotten your tank started yet?

I think I saw that post...was it about washing the sand cause it used to have some algae in it?

I don't know but if I were you I'd just go to the hardware store and try to find some argonite sand OR if you can't find argonite sand you can use slilicate sand these are both forms of play sand. It's cheaper than buying live sand. Then pick up some rock, dry or live. If you use dry rock you'll need to start your cycle with something... You can use a piece of raw shrimp (google this) or a little substrate from an established tank. A lot of people will buy a damsel but for many reasons I don't like this idea. If you buy a piece of live rock you won't need to use a shrimp or anything else to start the cycle.

...and there's a good sized group of southern Indiana reefers on here... I'm sure some will be chiming in at some point!
