First of all, please excuse my english, it is not my first language :-[

I have had many fresh water tanks in the past and am now a begginner with salt water! I bought a mini tank, called a "bio-cube" and started it two months ago. So far, so good! I have introduced critters slowly and my first fish this week-end. All is well.

Although I have some 20 years experience with fresh water tanks, this is an all new and so different experience. And a much more exciting (and expensive) one.

I now beleive that fish are purely in the tank for esthetics and that the real excitement is watching what is happening with the live rock, the invertebrates and the crustaceans. There is a whole universe evolving in my 12 gallon tank!

    I feel like a kid again! ;D

Bonjour mon ami and welcome. Yippy another Canadian, you will love it here.
Your english is amazing for a second language!

I too have only had a saltwater tank since June and it is much more interesting, and enjoyable than freshwater and as you said much more expensive.

This is the fun time when you get to see all these interesting creatures on the liverock. Get a flashlight and take a look at night, you'll be amazed at what you see especially as your tank matures.
