I got into this hobby by a friends dad who had a 90 gallon reef aquarium. I loved the beauty of the corals swaying in the gentle flow and the fish having unique personalities. I'm 15 years old and don't have a huge tank to brag about, instead I have many smaller tanks. The largest being a 35 gallon bow front tank that is freshwater. I have another 10 gallon freshwater, but my prize and beauty is my 29 gallon biocube with a 10 gallon in-stand sump. In it I have mushrooms, pink trees, polyps, frags, carpets, an anemone, coral banded shrimp, peppermint shrimp, serpent starfish, a coral beauty, clownfish, longnose hawkfish, yellow watchman goby. I have a 10 galon saltwater rejuvenation tank with a red mandarin in it. And a 20 gallon acrylic tank with a Peacock Mantis Shrimp in it. Thanks for reading,

    Nick

Thanks, and I'll have some pics up later. I have a question. the Red Mandarin that's in the 10 gallon recovering doesn't have any Copepoda to eat. My lfs recommends tigger pods, but I know that they eat Copepoda in general, what's the difference between the two?

Unfortunatly your 29 won't have enough rock to support a mandarins diet of pods, unless you can get him switched to other food sources(which can be difficult)he will probably starve now matter how hard you try.

In the biocube I have tons of pods. I read that if you put them in your refugium, you will have a greater reproduction rate and population, due to nothing eating them down there. I'm not sure how much rock is needed, but vie got at least 65 lbs in the tank. The guy with the 90 gallon lost interest and gave all of his rock and corals to me, and those rocks were cycling in his tank for over 10 years, growing with copepods. Someone in the biocube was picking on the mandarin in the biocube, and he was afraid of going near the rock. And with how week he's gotten, the other fish were circling him with hunger, and that's when we acclimated him to the 10 gallon, with the same age of rock, but no pods due to seahorses I had in it before. I'm not worried about the biocube, but while he's in the 10 gallon, I need to feed him supplements, and I'm wondering which to get.

    Thanks.

You've got some cool tanks. We're waiting for pictures. :p

I can't help you with the mandarin goby, but I see already, others are trying to help.
