Hello from Romania

Hi guys,

I am relatively new to saltwater aquariums an I have a 15g tank. It was started in January this year and can be seen in picture below.
My question for all of you is: what is the best filtration method for this kind of nano?

Hello and Welcome to the 3reef fam. I would say that would depend on your budget. I know some people that use either a sump with refugium, canister filter, hang on the back filter, or just a hang on the back protein skimmer. So many options, the choice is yours.

 

Welcome to 3reef. IMPO if you keep your bioload light your LR will do most of the work. I think as long as you run a PH and Maybe a HOB or canister type filter you will be fine. I set up a 2.5 Nano christmas last yr and run it this way with until around july with no problems until I took it down.

Welcome to 3reef. For filtration I would use a HOB filter, a HOB protein skimmer, and a lot of rock. It looks like you have a good amount of live rock already, and a HOB filter so if you got a HOB protein skimmer you'd be all set.

You could also add a refugium for nitrate exportation later on if you find it necessary.

 

For the moment I run a hang on filter Hailea SL-306 with a big sponge inside and activated carbon but i'm looking for a bigger hang on in which I want to keep a nano skimmer.
