Hello! I have been lurking on this site for a couple months now, and decided to finally get involved!

I have a 75 Gallon that was down for a few years, and set back up 6-7 months ago. I haven't done much with it yet, as I have been expecting a relocation from Baton Rouge. Well that just happened, and the tank has a new home in Lake Charles. Right now it has about a 2-3" sand bed 15 lbs of old live rock, and almost 20 lbs that I just bought befor I left. (Better Rocks in Baton Rouge.) I have another 60-70 lbs of DIY rock that is curing, and will be ready in about a week or so. For filtration I have an Aquaclear Proclear 75 wet/dry sump with the skimmer that came with it (I don't have a whole lot of faith in the skimmer), and about a 12 gallon refugium that I built from acriylic with a 2-3" sand bed. I will be adding some macro algae to the fuge in near future. for the moment I have 6x40watt NO flourescent bulbs (3xActinic, and 3x6500K). The only livestock (for now) is one lonely green chromis, a few nassarius snails and blue leg hermits, and one queen conch.

It's not much yet, but I have big aspiratons for this tank! Sorry for the long post, guess I got a little carried away there!

Welcome to 3Reef>>>>>>> No worries about a long post, less for everyone to be nosey about. Plus giving alot of info about your tank helps the ocean gods of 3Reef answer questions faster......

Welcome to 3 reef!:) The post wasn't a prob. I'm guilty of much longer ones.;D
Just a word of advice. The actinic bulbs are fine, but the 6500 K NO bulb will get pretty friendly with the algae if you know what I mean. Try to get special marine daylight bulbs with at least 10000 K. Good luck! (And we like pics);)
