Just like to say hello, I've been reading all the great info on this site for a number of months so I thought it was about time to join rather than sneaking around.

My main hobby is Koi keeping but I've also been running a 120 UK gall marine system for 25 years, its fish only and not live rock as you guys do.

Its been running with a tunze system which was state of the art all of those years ago when I first set it up.

Anyway I'm going to close it down spring 2012, I have some building work taking place then but when thats all finished I'm going to set up a 80 UK gall Reef.

Hopefully if I get stuck you guys will help me out.

The reason I've stated a couple of time UK galls is I believe our Galls are bigger than US galls, UK holding 8pts.

And I do hope this hasn't been to boring!:cheesy:

:) The old Tunze system that I use consists of a row of modules that sit in the top of the tank, the first section consists of a powerful motor and 4 cartriges containing Tunze filter wool cartridges. (yes you can still buy them over here)

The water is drawn through the Cartridges and any fines removed, from there a small amount of water is piped to the next set of modules which are just 4 small trickle filters, I guess you would call them Wet/dry.

The last piece of equipment is a Tunze doc skimmer.

And thank you all for your welcome.
