I have a 20 gal high and im looking to upragade my lighting ive been looking at this fixture

Amazon.com: Odyssea 24" T5 HO Quad Aquarium Light Fluorescent Hood Fixture w/4 LED - Marine 4x24W: Pet Supplies

    Any thoughts?
I know the stock bulbs arent quit good for growing anything just for fish only, but im only 15 so im kinda short on money lol

But hopefully in the near future ill be upgrading to ATI bulbs :)

    A friend of mine recommended getting 2 blue+ ATI bulbs 24W and 2 10,000k Daylight ATI 24W

    Thoguhts?

    Yoel :)

my Budget is $100 and i was looking on LEDs and idk...

LED is moving quit fast and i know if i waste my money on that fixture then ill have to be stuck with it cause you cant change the leds light you change T5 HO...

Yea, i might be buying the LED after i finish putting the ATI but dont you think you can experiment with T5's better?

idk.. im just asking cause im new to this and i know people who have LED's and want T5's so im stuck..

Im 15 and im starting out just to see some things grow here and there and enjoy the tank you know..
Eventually as time passes ill upgrade to a better fixture but this Odyssea is ALOT better than what i have now :)

Im running a 15W actinic and 15W 10,000k daylight which is only 35W

With this.. i can pull of 96 W and change the coloration alot more

With that budget, you aren't ready for led yet. Go for t5, you can get in inexpensively and have amazing results.

YoYo u never stated what coral you want to keep. that is needed. also if you get the fixture you link and ati bulbs your look at 150+ and a fixture that is know to get very hot.

depending on what you want to keep you might be able to get away with a quality 2 bulb t5. life if you wanted mostly softies and some lps.

have you looked at used equipment?
