I have the first signs of algae showing up on my live rock. My cycles is about 2 to 3 weeks finished. Is this something to show major concern over or is this something that will pass with time and is a normal stage of an aquarium. Here is a pic, any help identifying and remedy, removal suggestions appreciated.

looks like green cyano and if so its not a good sign. Looks like you have a some dead spots in your water column. Try facing a power head

Would it be a good idea to go ahead and get the clean up crew that was recommended to me from reefcleaners now to help knock out the problem? If so how much of a bio load do cucs add to your tank, if any at all. I would imagine it would be minimal. Thanks for the responses.

Does the algae wipe off if you run your finger over it? If you are, you should not be running you lights during the cycle. They should be off until its complete. A CUC may not tackle your issue, and if you are cycling, they may not make it through. Id wait, but maybe someone with more knowledge on the CUC topic will come around.

During your routine water changes, this can be easily sucked out with the siphon tube.

If thats the case I would definatly get your clean up crew
When my cycle was over i turned on my lights and it ony took about 10days to get a pretty good algea breakout. Got a clean up crew and they took care of it in about 4 days. I also sucked some out with a tube.
