If you got the cash, I'd look at the Iwaki (Japanese). I use Gen-X & have really had good luck. I'll spend the extra $$ for Iwaki with the Japanese motor.

Anything you dislike about the Gen-X? How is the noise?

    Thanks for your input

If you keep them maintained (like most pumps), clean dust, salt creep, etc., noise is minimal. I have 2 Gen-X 40's on my 120g. One for close loop circulation & SCWD, the other for the return.

guess thats just 200GPH more. that cant hurt, and i can always govern the output right?

ill be using this pump strictly to feed a return pipe with two output nozzles, phos reactor, carbon reactor (or i might put it in a sock havent quite decided).

if i went with the 1350GPH pump i could pipe in my 20gal tank as a frag tank and use the 350GPH through that.... hrmm that could be worth the $14 increase in cost :)

I dunno about any of those. I got a Mag-Drive 9.5 pump for my 90 gallon. It's really powerful and supposed to be awesome.

I also use a little giant on my 75. No noise at all.
