So I definitely want some fish to compliment my corals in my 75. I've learned the hard way about sticking fish that belong in a bigger tank in your system.

I was thinking a mated pair of true perc clown fish and 4 Firefish. I may even just stick to that. Simple, yet they compliment the tank ever so slightly.

Any recommendations on some colorful, active fish? I'd like hardy fish that are not difficult to keep, just want simple at the moment. I'm going to look over reef safe wrasse tomorrow but wanted to hear some opinions of my fellow reefers

Sounds like a good selection so far. Buy the firefish all at once if at all possible to keep them from getting territorial. They should be the first fish in since they tend to be the most peaceful of your selections.

For a wrasse go with flasher or fairy wrasses or Halichoeres species.

Kole tangs have very good personalities and I think one would be a good fit for your 75.

I went to the LFS to look at their corals and caught the fish I wanted.

Next I'd like to add the mated pair of clowns and possibly a bristletooth tang. I'd be done then.

umm isn't that a bristletooth tang in the second pic? lol

how old is this tank? I'd be weary of a mini cycle adding that man fish at once. Just watch params for the next few weeks and have a WC ready.

Congrats on the new fish, should be a cool looking tank.

Some of the best rules of thumb for the most successful SW tanks.

1 fish at a time, 1 month apart

1 fish per 10g of water

    It's a yellow eye kole tang :)

This tank will be a year old in May. It has had fish in it before, however due to my unwillingness to listen and put triggers in there they all succumbed overnight to something after they were fine for weeks. I'll be testing daily to monitor it

Yea unfortunately this is one those things that we learn the hard way. Give the gobies time to burrow there holes in the sand and be comfortable in the tank before adding clowns. They can chase gobies right out of the tank. Believe me I found out with the clown in my avatar. You have a hood or mesh to cover the tank?

firefish are dartfish and don't burrow
they really aren't schooling fish (I've seen groups work in huge tanks a few times)
    I highly recommend wrasse

Currently a hood that I put on temp. It's actually about 3/8 in too wide so it doesn't sit flat I have to angle both of them. I'm going to DIY mesh top here shortly as I want a mesh open top.

The 4 I have currently have not left each others sides then again it's only been a few hours. I hope they do stay grouped.
