Ok guys I really need some advice...

I am upgrading my tank this weekend. I curently have a 55g with sump and refugium and am moving everything over to a 90g. Stocking wise I have 1-Blue Tang, 2-Clowns, 1-Anthias, and 4-Chromis, Mixed soft coral and CUC.

My tang and anthias have shown signs of ich (not on clowns or chromis), everyone is eating great, very active and I have noticed no other issues or changes besides the white spots over the last week. Nothing out of control and have started a reef safe (ich attack) treatment yesterday. This morning I noticed an improvment.

I need to figure out the best way to make this transition.

Option A - Move everything at the same time and continue the "reef safe" treatments. (This seems to me to be the less stressfull option for everyone, including me)

Option B - Move just the rock and corals and CUC. Leave for 21 days and do a copper or hypo treatment on the fish in the 55g.

What do you guys think the best way to do this would be? Im afraid that seperating everything would enduce more stress which would intensify the ich with unknow results..

I have read other members posts that the fish will develope immunity to the ich after time. I have also been told that there is ALWAYS ich so would trying to rid my system completly be a waste of time?

    So how should I proceed?

    Thanks

Well I would say if you really want to get rid of your Ich problem you will need to get rid of the Tang. Your current and new system are too small for this fish. Tangs are very suseptible to Ich but this problem will only get worse when you house them in a tank that is too small. I probably wouldn't waste my time treating the Ich if you plan on keeping the Tang.

What kind of tang you stated blue tank
But like a hippo tang or?

The 90 is fine for him but you have to watch your water when you move over the fish you'll transfer the ick no way around even if the clowns show no sign.

Best bet is to get you water stable in the new tank and get your self some garlic extream and make your own food that has plenty of greens and meats and use selcon and garlic extream in that food.

If you move the fish to fast and the new tank has not has time to cycle and be come stable your asking for more issues then you already have...
I know your moving the rock over so,it's a tough call
    Hope that helps

Can you keep the 55 running for a while? If so I'd move out your corals, inverts and most the live rock, keep the sand and a little live rock (that you will throw away when done) and treat the fish in the existing tank with copper for about four weeks. Then move the fish over to the new tank. That way at least these fish will be parasite free as will the new tank.

Keep the new tank fish-free the entire time.

Yes I can, This was my inital thought.. The only issue will be lighting. I need to have my lights on the new 90g for the corals for the 55 will be light free for 4 weeks.

Im also running a uv on the 55g now and will be moving that to new tank.

Having kept tangs for a number of years I would keep the 55 as-is for right now until the fish beat ick. Soak their food in Selcon and keep the UV running. In a few weeks they will be better than you can commence the tear down. Worst thing you can do to a tang is change stuff on them!
