    i got a torch coral 3 days ago, got in 2day 2 find a brown slime floating off it. half my polyps coral looks closed an crusty, toadstool looks as it may have been stung? help me, wots happening? will tank b ok? i moved torch 2 look at it and some slime floated round tank!:angry:

    I agree do a water change right away. Check your parameters a Salinety, PH or ALK change from what it was in when you bought it to what you have can cause this.

    whats that? is it bad 4 my tank? what about fish? shud i take torch out?

    the one getting mess up is the torch, more than likely the torch is having a reaction to your tank, parameters or something really wrong, the slime is a sign of the coral being ill for whatever cause try to aim a power head at it not too strong though, and give it a day or so. if it worsen take it out but your fish and other should be fine other than some slime wrapping around them, use a fine mesh net to remove the slime

    What are the water levels setting at ? And was the brown stuff like a stingy looking stuff Like a heavy thread ? What type of flow is it setting in ? Not a lot just a little swaying back and forth not a blasting , Anything setting close to the Torch coral Did you try to feed it recently ?

    brown jelly infection probaly a protazoan.freshwater dips for 60 seconds a few times a day with iodine added to them helps but these infections move fast so dont wiat long.good luck and make sure your ph is set to your tank level when you dip.
