10 gal isn't that big so shouldn't be a problem. I moved a 75gal by putting substrate and rocks in a tub of water, fish in another, and the rest of the water in many more containers. If I were you just put the rock in some water, leave the fish in the tank, lower the water down to an inch of so above the substrate (depending on how big your fish are) and move it. Re-fill with existing water and rock. You will probably have a little cycle from this just from all the stirring of substrate.

Since it's only a 10g that would work. We had to move our Freshy 10g, and we siphoned out around 2/3's of the water, disconnected everything, and set it down on the desk it is on now. You will either have to take the rock out and place it in the bucket of water, or be careful not to have it shift as you move. Don't want to crush a critter...

And be ready, the move is probably going to start a mini cycle. But I would get it moved ASAP before your stand gives. 10 gallons is only 100 pounds of water, plus rock and equipment:p

Just as everyone else said and be careful the glass on a 10 gallon is thin. So make sure you take out as much as you can.

Actully as this video shows a standard 10 gallon tank can hold an unbelivable amount of weight without breaking.

Drain 1/2 the water out, you need a piece of 3/4 plywood or something like it, pick up one end of the tank and slowley slide the plywood under it. Once this is done two of you can pick it up at the end and move it where every you desire, then slide it off the plywood slowley and you will be done.

I did this twice with my 10 and my 16 Bow frt. from the living room to utility room then 4 months later from utility to basement and never moved a rock or lost anything.

With my 20G, I siphoned out 2/3 of the water and just picked it up by myself. With a 10G tank, that will weigh about 40-50lbs. If you can lift that weight, you can do it safely if you carry it on the front and back walls underneath, don't hold it on the long ends. Or you can use a plank like gazog suggested.
Just curious, how did the stand break and where is it broken?

Yeah you will want to get that replaced. It sounds like it was exposed to moisture and was weakened. I would suggest getting a solid wood stand, or a metal one with wooden panels. I hope the move went well and trouble free. Make sure where you move it in the mean time, it can handle the weight. A 10G tank can weigh close to 200lbs when full.
