My peppermint shrimp have eaten most of the hydroids in my DT, they are only in my sump and seaweed tank so don't affect the corals in my DT.

It's the aiptasia in my DT that I'm at war with, my peppermints eat the ones not burried in the rock work and the ones that are burried the peppermints just eat some of the tenticles but can't get at the whole anemone.

Ok check, bottom seems to be Hydroids, mission kill them.

First picture, kinda up in the air? Should I just leave it and see what happens? Without touching it, how can I tell what kind of base it has?

You can leave it and let it grow and see what it turns to... Or try and remove the rock and place it in the tank where u can see it better and try and get a beter look at it...
Then theres the simple when in doubt remove it moto....

    Good Luck...

Search for "colonial hydroids". You might have more luck finding information on what I think you have.
