i tested my water today with my new calcium and mg test kits. calcium read 540 magnesium 1360 , dkh 8 , ph 8.3:confused:
i have kent marine nano reef part A part B, one buffers alkalininity and the other ca, mg and trace elements. should i wait until my calcium drops to 450 before i start dosing? tank's been set up for 1 month plus. advice appreciated! ;D

i dosed half of the recommended dose for my tank before i tested my ca and mg, probably why ca is so high..

Bring the dKH up to around 12. That will also lower the CA ;)

Yeah just adjust what needs adjusting, you don't have to use them simultaneously. Just add alkalinity until the CA comes down naturally IMO.

Also I think 10dkh is a fine level, I don't like keeping mine above 10, it can increase the amount of precipitation (more pump cleaning).

thanks man , then i guess i'll just use part B to bring it up =D

hey i have another question! Skimmed water from the protien skimmer cup, do they consist of salt inside? or just water + waste. because i'm wondering if cleaning the cup daily would lower the salinity of my water
