Okay, as of right now stop listening to your LFS guy. He's an idiot if he told you to add all of that without testing for it, and if he told you to overdose it. Stop with the additives for now as well. Focus on doing some back to back water changes.

Later on when the tank is settled go buy a calcium kit. You don't need to worry with the iodine and strontium, very few people do. If you are performing proper water maintenance these levels should be buffered by the new SW anyways.

Just remember this golden rule Don't add anything that you don't a) know exactly what it's for and why it's needed, and b) have a test for it.

Your LFS is just trying to sell you stuff. I would suggest doing some independent research and if any questions, concerns, or doubts come up, ask here first. Good luck with your tank!

It helps with growth, but you must know exactly what you are doing. The only thing you might need to be adding at this point is calcium, hence the suggestion to go get a test kit for it. The directions on any type of additive are general guidelines. It is absolutely essential that you know the levels of anything that you want to add to your tank.

 

i understand that, but everything needs to be at a specific level, and you need to test for it to make sure it's not too high or low.

 

the calcium test was 420mg/L
