sounds like it could be low oxygenation. Can you give some more specifics about your system? How do there gills look?

Have you done a water change any time soon? Maybe something got into your water change bucket? i did that once on my 29 and killed everything in the tank bc my amazing gf forgot to tell me she used my water change bucket to wash her car.....

Well, initially, I thought low oxygenation as well. For starters, I would position one of the powerheads to give more surface agitation to get more oxygen into the system. A reef tank takes much in the way of flow, so that is something I would look into after you get this current problem taken care of.

pH tends to be low in the morning and rise as the day goes on. I would not add any more buffer. pH swings are normal.

Do you have any Prime in your cabinet? If so, I would dose just to cover that base. It can't hurt.

Anyone else? I am a little stumped on this one. It sounds like a global problem, something is up with the entire system.

    And you did treat it?

I have a feeling it's either oxygenation or your water source......
