    Hi do need to turn off my skimmer at night? tank red sea max 130d. Also do i need to turn it off when feeding my system with phytoplankton:confused:

    welcome to 3 reef, danny1

    1 - at night - no leave it on 24/7 , skimmers can take a while to produce foam, turning it off every night means it never works as efficiently as it could


    2 - I dont turn my skimmer off when I feed liquid food supplements

    I leave mine on 24x7.....the only time I shut it off is when I clean it!
