Just got home and noticed my 2 scarlet hermits together. They had their shells bumped together, both were almost out of their shell with their abdomens stuck together. The one looked like it was humping the other (for lack of a better word). Then they moved apart and went their separate ways. Any body know anything about their mating behaviour? or if they even do in captivity?

    1bunny+1bunny=200 bunnies

It is unlikely this will result in more hermit crabs. If I recall correctly all crabs spend the first stages of life as zooplankton. Might make a nice meal for some filter feeders, but without certain strands of phytoplankton I think they are doomed.
