    I noticed this guy the other day. All my hermit crabs are blue legged, this guy isn't. I'm not sure if he's safe or not.

    looks just like regular hermit crab. It may be the type they sell as "assorted" I wouldn't worry about it.

    Agreed. Don't worry about him. I have 3 or 4 different legged hermies.

    Clibanarius vittatus, a common Gulf of Mexico hermit crab. Very hardy...
    They grow very fast, voratious eaters , and i found one munching on my mushrooms, needles to say i took him out.
