hermit question??

have two little questions that I am curious about...

One of my new hermits; a little guy, maybe doing a little to good cleaning. I seem to notice a white trail over the rock, where he has been. do they eat the purple coraline??

All the critters I got the other day are doing great, moving around and cleaning. But one little hermit still hasn't came out of his shell and moved around. might sound bad, but i have poked his shell and turned him over a few times and he is still alive. Is he still adjusting to the water??

 

ive only seen on web page that claims some hermits will eat it. some other sites say they scrap it off(i dunno why). i think its possible but don't expect any other hermits to do it. that hermit might just be scared or waiting tell its dark
