I do love being near the beach. I've been tempted to try my setup with NSW, or maybe just through the cycling process. I've actually seen a few people come collect water while i've been at the beach. I've seen them take it right on the shoreline though, which I wouldn't want to do.

Anyways, if you're in the area sometime, let me know. I don't know anyone personally in the hobby yet, would be great to get to know some locals who love their reefs.

Very nice! Is this your first setup? Gorgeous fish, especially that wrasse. Love the starry blenny too, most definitely want one in my set up. Do you run a CuC with your blenny?

This is my 3rd, but both the others were very small in comparison. The dragon wrasse is my favorite.
I have a small CUC for the tank volume. Plan on expanding it but the blenny does a great job.

Yep I'm the only one of my friends that has a tank. I never tried saltwater from the ocean. Back when I had a 55gal I used to take rocks from the beach and put them in there so my tanked looked like my beach. I never had any problems, but thinking back I wouldn't do it again due to parasites and god knows what. I'll shoot ya a message next time I head up that way. Check the internet for a local reef society forum up there. Ours down here is called (BARS) Brevard Area Reef Society, it's free and most the people on there will help you out with trades and what not. 3 reef has been my lifeline though!

I just kinda realized I hijacked Raretang's thread! Sorry. Haven't used a message board in several years. Out of practice.

Soon! I hope. Still getting my dry goods together. First attempt and a SW tank so i'm being deliberate and taking my time and hopefully not rushing into anything. I did recently cut some of the rim off my tank so i could fit a mounting bracket for my new reed radiance lumentek 180 I just received. If I get a new sump and skimmer this weekend i'll throw a picture up.
