I am new here. (Obviously) :)

I come in search of questions...SO MANY QUESTIONS!!

I am not new to fish keeping, but an new to SW aquariums.

Currently I have 2 tanks, a 75 gallon South American Cichlid tank, and a 10 gallon FOWLR tank which I am looking into making into a 15 or 20.

I look forward to talking with all of you, and foresee my self spending alot of time on these forums the next few months, learning as much as I can.

    Thanks.

    Justin.

Welcome to 3reef Justin. My first suggestion is to start off with as big a tank as you can! With saltwater, stability is key. Larger tanks are inherently more stable than smaller ones due to the larger volume of water.

Other than that, welcome to the addicting hobby of reef keeping!

Welcome and ask away. One thing you will learn about this hobby is that there are so many ways to get to the same result which is a beautiful tank.

I would love to start off with a bigger tank, but unfortunately I couldn't afford the bill for live rock/protein skimmer/sump/lighting and even stocking the thing. I would like to start on a small level, evening knowing its more difficult, to learn the basics and if something does go wrong with the tiny tank then im only out a couple hundred dollars, not a couple thousand.

15 is a great size tank to learn with, as long as you REALLY pay attention.

Most will tell you go big so its easier your first go around, but if you start with a nano and learn to perfect it, anything is possible in reefing after that. Whereas those big reef keepers have a much higher learning curve trying to come down to nano tanks.

I LOVE MY 15 GALLON. I did my entire YouTube series on it
