Hello, new to site, saltwater hobby, and first ever posting on any forum. :)
I've been reading articles on the site for about 3 months now, very informative. I see there are allot of ways to do things right in salt water and more ways to not. Need a good sounding board for ideas and ways to solve problems. On with the story...We started just after Christmas with a 75 gallon not reef ready tank and wet dry filter. Oh well, LFS "good deal". This is actually my son's tank, I supply cash he supplies too many fish and food. He and his fiance are now learning to change water and do other chores for the tank. Nitrates have increased some but are under control now with less food and water changes. I am going to buy new camera when taxes return. So no pics for now.

The plot thickens...With little to no control over the 75g tank I went out and bought myself a used reef ready 120 gallon tank with about 100 pounds live rock, of which, about 70lb remains in the tank. My son pilfered what he wanted for his 75 the first night:eek:. The tank is in the basement, on the floor, running with live rock and two beutiful black clown fish. Nitrates spiked in this tankalso, I guess from stirring sand up on the move. I will post a build thread for it much later in the wall. I move slowly on things and have a rather busy work schedule for the next month and a half 6x12hr days a week... yuc.

Howdy neighbor! :D You should check out the Chattanooga Reef Club. My mom and I still haven't been to a meeting yet...but we're going to try to make it to one sometime. Eventually.

What LFS do you shop at, perchance?
