    Hey guyz!

    my name is sean and i live in south florida
    I just started about a week ago with my tank and already have all kinda of life on it including a mantis shrimp which had hidden in the live rock i bought. Any I am hoping to learn as much as I can from more experienced in this part of the hobby! i know the mantis shrimp is bad for a community so im goin to put him in my quarantine tank for now that is once i have caught him anyway i have about 22lbs of indonisian live rock in the tank the tank its self is a 44 gal corner with sump, overflow, protien skimmer, uv sterilizer, hob filter for my puregen pouch, 36watt corallife compact flourescent. anyway heres my tank

    Welcome to 3reef, Sean! Nice coralline covered rock you have there. If you have difficulties getting that mantis out of the rock, you can take the rock out of the tank by itself and drop it into some RO/DI water for a minute. He'll bail. Just watch your fingers! :)

    And of course have some newly mixed SW ready for him when you get him out so you're not letting him sit in FW any longer than necessary.

    thanks for the tip reefsparky! right now im trying the water bottle with the reversed top with some food in it.
    and thanks 2in10 i work pretty hard on all my tanks and reptile set ups
    and fishaholic i live in the treasure coast too by the jenson beach mall actually
