    Newbie Here

    Looking to start a 50+ gallon tank with mostly reef and invertebrates. Have a few questions if anyone has the time to answer.

    How much live rock would I need for a 75 gallon tank? Anyone recommend any good filter brands and protein skimmers. Have a 400w MH light laying around could that be used in this setup or is that too much power?

    Went into the LFS today and it looks like they are on their last leg :(

    hi :] welcome to 3reef what neck of the woods are you in?
    400w mh would let you keep just about any kind of coral and such
    for live rock there is a bunch of different opinions I've heard from 1 pound per gallon to 3 pounds per gallon you don't have to go all live rock either you can go like 1/2 live half base rock or whatever.
