Hi my names Peter from Sacramento and SF Bay Area and I just wanted to say hi to all the 3reef members.

This site is just great and there is so much to learn about setting up a marine aquarium. As an engineer, I love hobbies that are detail oriented.

I plan to purchase a 55gal tank in the next month or so and I look forward to receiving great advice from all of you. I've been reading books such as, "The New Marine Aquarium" and it has definitely made me excited in getting into this hobby. The best thing is that my girlfriend is getting involved too.

Well, wish me luck in getting my first marine aquarium setup and I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you in the future.

    Cheers!

Ain't that the truth!!!! But it's worth every dime. Before you buy your 55g, look though your book and figure out what kind of livestock you want in your tank. You may find that a 75g or 90g is more suited to you.

But remember also the cost of live rock and live sand, and lighting upgrades if your tank is deep. Get onto your computer and make a list of the things you'll need and the money you will have to spend. There is no such thing as too much research.

The people on this site are very cool and have a lot of really good advise.

    Welcome to 3reef.......John. ;D
