He didn't jump. He's not on the floor, and I have a canopy, so he'd have to be a pretty accurate jumper. I think he must have died in the tank. If he died there my cleanup crew would take care of it within 10 minutes. I wouldn't ever know.

Ouch, we had that experience with our goby. Not pleasant. Of course, he chose to dive in the back, where we found him with a flashlight....

I got a Hi Fin Red Banded Goby yesterday, as I released him from the net and as he headed for the bottom I noticed my six line wrasse had decided to jump into the top of the wet/dry filter. Since the filter was off , the top where he was laying was dry and he wasn’t breathing. I never saw where the goby went and haven’t seen him since. If he doesn’t make it and becomes hermit crab food it that will be a double whammy………

Sorry about your wrasse. It's been 6 days. I'm just about ready to call it. Any chance he still might show himself?

I would help him and target feed, just to make sure he gets a little. My tanks have a warden also.

I fed right over by him as soon as I saw him. He's obviously been hiding in a tiny cave in between two pieces of big live rock covered by a giant mushroom with a little Euphylia frag to help hide him. I don't doubt he's been eating all along. Just to make sure, however, like I said, I fed right over by him and he scarfed down a brine shrimp and a little piece of brine. I fed brine because although it isn't very nutritious, it is very enticing, and it is gut loaded with spirulina, so my tang needs it anyway.
