I'll check that link out after I do the dishes.

Tonight we had pan fried beef cutlets prepared with sauted mushrooms. Acorn squash baked in the oven with lots of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Garden salad with chunks of blue cheese, and for desert, Blue Bell popsickels- off course sugar free! [smiley=chef.gif]

    Well, dinner sounds wonderful :)

Sugar free popsicles, but sugar on the vegetables huh LOL Sounds like something I would do :)

Do you guys eat sweet potato? Just filling in time, lazing back while you do the dishes :) Anything good on the idiot box? Gimme that remote!

    O.K JohnO!

Now you sound like my husband with the remote while I do the cooking and the dishes. My husband has to be watching at least 2 programs at a time. The two of you would probably be fighting over it. Drives me nuts especially with most of the shows being Sci-Fi's.

I thought I'd get a comment out of you about the sugar free pops and veggies with sugar-and butter. It was right good! Yumm! ::)

Of course we eat sweet potatoes, don't you? Canndied sweet potatoes are really good and its hard to beat a good baked sweet potatoe.

    Cindy,

Could you explain to me why Americans love sugar so much? It seems that if it isn't deep fried it has to be sugar coated. Am I right or just a victim of the media, remembering that I have never been to your fair country of course :)

Yup, deep fried AND sugar coated!! LOL
My best friend just got back from Italy - she was there for 2 weeks and lost 12 pounds! No mayo, no salt, no ketchup (for her 12 yr old daughter), no butter....

Mostly, no english so she couldn't communicate with the waiters very well!! She starved!

Stange you should mention Italy :)  I was listening to someone who had also just returned and they were complaining about the fact that in Italy all you could get was Italian food :)  Same as France, only French food.

That lead me to think how lucky I was ( and I guess you guys too ) living in a muticultural society we can easily eat whatever cuisine we want :)

A few years back I was lucky enough to go to Sth Korea on a business trip, loved the country and people but if I see another Korean BBQ I will spew :)

In an effort to get this derailed thread back on track, I was in Italy and loved the cuisine!  With all that coastline the SEAFOOD was incredible!  From fresh caught FISH to the marinated INVERTBRATE salads, vavavoom!  I didn't notice any CA/Alk imbalance during any of my meals in Italy or here for that matter.

Just in case you missed the humanity involved in discussion boards :) I didn't say the food was bad, I just said the cuisine was the same :)

Go to Italy for some fine food and take the Holmes-Farley artivle on water chemistry as reading for the flight! ;D
