My mom did thee hike...half way...when she was a teenager. haha. That would be kinda cool though. I'd wanna camp out.

My sister is going to see Pen & Teller in Vegas and plans to stop at the Grand Canyon on the way there. They won't have time to hike it though, unfortunately.

my brother did it a few years ago when he was out there for business..he said it was tough but not hard..he runs like 10 miles a day and runs all these marathons too, so hes in good shape..good luck, depending on what shape your in, i would def get your cardio up, either by an eliptical or running..

I have been to the Grand Canyon 4 times. When you say "hike the canyon" that is not specific. We have been to both the North and South rims. I believe you are talking about the South. There are many trails to hike. I would suggest that if you hike a trail to the bottom, spend the night and either camp or set up something with the main Lodge at the the bottom and do some Trout fishing in the Colorado river or Kayak etc. Get a good nights sleep and hike back up the next day. My wife and took mules down and only went half way to a plataeu and then went back up....holy sore butts batman! Even on the mules it was exhausting. Would have been much better going all the way down and spend the night. Take plenty of water!
