I currently have a Niger and looking at adding either the Pink Tail or Blue Jaw. Just curious the compatibility between the Blue Hippo and least aggressive Triggers? I'm thinking just before I add him, rearrange all the rock work. Thanks for the input.

    How big is your tank?
I would think the hippo would be ok with the niger for the most part...hippos are very very timid and stressed easily, so I would not want to go with a smaller hippo.

I dont think it is a wise idea to add a niger and a pink tail or blue jaw, to similar body shape and will produce fights.

92 Corner. The Niger is quite timid and even when added others, I've not seen him bother any, including a Midas Blenny. He's the largest in the tank. I've read others having success with a trigger combo with those listed above. I have more troubles with my female Maroon Clown harassing, then anything else. She'll run from one side of the tank leaving her anemone, to harass the Midas Blenny and 12 Line Wrasse. I'm hoping that'll cool down. I may remove her for a period of time, then return later if she continues.

    Schackmel,

I have both a pink tail (6") and a niger (3 1/2") and although there was some initial issues, they both seemed to have adjusted fairly well. They are in a 150 and the pink tail is considerable bigger than the niger. Now they seem to "pal" around together.

Do you have any videos of your tank? I'd be interested in seeing the layout. Any territorial concerns? Thanks for the input, btw. =)

There has not been any territorial issues that I have seen. Sorry, but I have a hard enough time getting a decent picture of my tank, let alone a video. LOL!

My aquascaping consists of 2 large islands of rock with a bridge in between. Here is a pic:

I think the 2 separate areas allow all my fish to each have their own hiding places.

Awesome! I like the idea. What's the rundown of your stock? My wife likes the Pinktail over the Blue Jaw although I'm swaying more to the Blue Jaw since it doesn't grow as large as the Pink.

I certainly don't want to discount Schackmel's advice here, I just have had a difference experience so far. One thing I will definitely say about either one of my triggers is that a CUC, particularly snails and shrimp, is fair game. I have seen my pink tail consume cleaner shrimp and snails and the niger is showing the same kind of taste ;D.

My stocking list is coral beauty angel, purple tang, goby/pistol shrimp, bi-color blenny, flame hawkfish, leopard wrasse, pink-tailed trigger, niger trigger, B&W clown x2
