HOB fuge

    are they worth it to add? ive had the HOB dual bio wheel, and fluval 405 canister on my 75gal since i started the tank(year and a half or so) kinda debating on a fuge...whats the positives of a fuge?

    Worth it. I am not a fan of HOB but I am of a refugium in general - so HOB or otherwise its a huge benefit to your system

    The benefit is that you are attaching the completion of the natural cycle to your tank. The refugium will consume nitrates which otherwise would build up and need to be reduced via water changes.

    Then the addition of pod's to the tank is a huge plus. The refugium will let the pods grow and multiply and keep a steady supply to the DT. It will also oxygenate your water, given a reverse photo period the fuge can stabalize your PH and to a lesser extent increse water volume which is always a plus.

    cant drill the tank, so HOB would be easiest for me, dont really have any nitrate problems, but i still think itd be a good addition, adding pods is one of the reasons i want to add it...i was also thinking about getting some harlequins and putting some stars in the fuge to let the heal while i feed the shrimp...
