Anyone try the Gurgle buster vs. the Herbie.

If you get the correct HOB Overflow you won't need this DUDE. IMO

 

not sure what i just did hope i dont double post this. anyways...... i made 2 gurgle busters for my dual eshopps 1200. worked great, dead silent even before i adjusted the depth of the airline tubing. very easy to make. only issue i had was that i used a dremel to sand down the inside of the coupler and i accidentally took a little to much of the inside. unfortunately i couldnt use it that long cause my sump cracked after a few days of use. i am upgrading to a reef ready 90 next month, and i am planning to try the herbie method. mostly cause i think, and have read that it quiets the drain into the sump as well as the overflow.

i am not sure that having a different type of overflow would really matter a whole lot unless you were able to 100% match the overflow rate with the return rate
