holding and transporting fish

    ok i bought a bicolor blennny a sexy shrimp feeder fish,shrimp,crabs .... she cant get them untill tmo... wat should i do leave them in the bag and bring them to work in the am for her to pick them up or aclimate them to my tank and set up small tanks at work till she can get there or what ? im at a loss here

    You should be able to keep them in the bag until tomorrow if there is a lot of air inthe bag. Just float them in your tank or sump to keep them warm.

    just float them. remember when you order things off the internet they sit in a bag for a couple days.. as long temps are stable you should be ok. let us know how it works out for ya.

    well 2 outa 12 crabs r dead so dripp aclimated them into my tanj they go for now

    ok morning update ..... blenny and sexy shrimp apear ok knock on wood... feeder fish n shrimp r ok ,i did end up aclimating them to my tank water bc their bag started to build amonia as did the crabs looks lik 2~4crabs didnt make it...they are all with me at work till about 9 wen my friend comes to get them

    Im sorry, but I didnt understand what was going on here. For future refer., if you fill up the bag with PURE oxygen(as they do in the LFS), the animal can stay in there for 24 hrs without any issues.

    my lfs just twist the bag shut they dont use o2 we have afew here and none of them do.....total 4 outa 12 dead octopus killed 3 fish far

    I know the LFS around here don't normally add O2, but they will if you ask or say you are going a long way home etc.. Sorry about the loss.

    thanks ill hafta ask next time but i dont think they can ...just a bigger bag...as for the loss any loss is not good but better 50 cent feeder crabs then the blenny or sexy shrimp :/
