    we got done building my buddys 55 in wall tank a while ago. this is his tank after we went up north for the weekend to go snowmobiling.
    diatom bloom anyone?

    its a new tank? would have done better with no lights.

    its semi new. already cycled though. he is upgrading the lights pretty soon. but nothing crazy as this is goin to house a couple fish and a eel. tank is prob 3-4 months old

    mag float time then....must have silicates in the water? have you tested for that?

    have not tested for silicates. just gunna let it run its coarse. clean the glass and thats about it. oh and we cant put a mag float or anything on the tank because there is a sheet of plexiglass in front of the tank because its right by a pool table.

    That seems a bit excessive for 2 days. Is there a window near by? Even indirect or seemingly distant natural light can do that.

    cant be that because the tank is in the basement with not windows at all lol. the rocks were getting a little bit on it but then we came back and its everywhere. im thinking there is alot of silicates in the water from the underground tunnels made out of pvc we used. for the eel to go through. ill have to start a build thread on here.
