even if you had a male horseshoe you are going to need 9 square feet at minimum to keep one. better left for cancer research or public aquariums and touch tanks. They bulldoze reefs anyway when they get older

these little guys are pretty cool to watch. they are just like bull dozers. they dont care what is in their way they just plow right on through. my sand bed is alot cleaner now though.

how long should i keep them before seeing if my lfs wants them? i dont know how fast they grow.

Cbs, any pics or a good description? I just can't imagine that many horseshoe crab hitchhikers!

My LFS Marine Aquarium Warehouse in Tampa says you can get away with 1 per 30 gal. Sounds about right to me....the mainly feed on the left over foods and deitrus so no need to feed anything special........also depends on how heavy your CUC is....you need to find a good balance between your CUC and making sure they have enough to feed on....although I consider them a part of the CUC.

they stay just under the sand so hopefully you can see these. i found about 6 of them to take pictures of and only one that was not covered by sand.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Honestly I have never seen horse shoecrabs as hitch hikers. But it is what it is, very cool IMO. With so many you will probably start running into food resourse problems unless you have a huge, established system. If you do not have such a system, I would start looking to getting them homes or the LFS.

    Again very cool.;D
