How high, sump baffles??

    Hey guys I'm just getting rdy to go to a glass shop so I can get all my baffles and overflow cut and I was wondering how tall I should make the baffles for my sump its a 29 gallon tank I was thinking 12-14 inches high but I really have no clue.... any expert input???

    If you will be running a skimmer be sure to make that compartment the height that it will run best at. From there just be sure each compartment is a little bit lower.

    I think 12" is high enough for most skimmers. The only need to go higher would be for extra water volume in your system.

    Find out what type of skimmer you are using and use the specs from that. For example reef octopus skimmers operate at 8" - 10" in height. So I would do 9" to be safe, space them about 3 cd's apart keeping the first and last baffle on the bottom and the middle an 1" or 2" from the bottom. JMHO
