I will be getting my first coral this weekend. It's probably going to be zoas or polyps. I know nothing about acclimating corals so how do you guys do it? With my fish and inverts i just float the bag for 10 minutes then every 5 minutes for half an hour i add some water to the bag. I don't have a way to drip acclimate so is this method ok for the coral?

Pufferchick, that method has proved OK for me with many corals I have added

some corals , I just put the coral and the water it came with into a bucket or large jug
add a cup of water every 5 mins or so until the volume in the bucket is double
then lift the coral out of bucket and put it into tank
throw away the bucket of water , and top tank up to original level with new salt water

    some corals like GSP
I empty the bag of SW it came in down the sink, carry the coral in an empty bucket to the tank and then place coral in tank

so it would be ok if the coral touches air for a quick second between the transfer from the bucket to the tank and it's ok for there to be no flow while acclimating? And as far as super gluing the coral do i put the glue on the frag plug while i have the coral in the tank after the acclimation process?

Just as long as it's not a sponge you will be fine.

i just float the bag and when its good temp i empty as much of the dealers water as i can.
then i add some tank water wait 3 or 5 mins then plop it in the tank, nothing has ever died due to acclimation yet

You can have to coral out in the air for quite some time, especially zoas and sps. A coral dip is a solution of tank water and something, can be lugols or a product specifically made for coral dips or even flat worm exit. The point is to prevent unwanted pests such as nudibranches, worms or other bugs and diseases from entering your DT. I've only dipped when a coral is sick, I've been lucky so far.
